Stripe integration — subscription billing and Stripe Connect payments

Oneop uses Stripe for its own subscription billing and, via Stripe Connect, lets your clients pay invoices straight into your own Stripe account.

Oneop’s Stripe integration does two distinct jobs. Keep them separate, because the money flows to different places.

What it does

Platform billing. Your Oneop subscription itself is billed through Stripe — checkout, plan changes and the customer portal.

Payments to you, via Stripe Connect. The part that matters for your business: connect your own Stripe account per workspace, and payments from your customers land in your account, not Oneop’s. Generate a Stripe payment link on any invoice — the same invoice always reuses the same link. In the project-management client portal, a client paying an invoice pays into the tenant’s own Stripe account, and the platform reconciles the payment into your general ledger, can issue a fee-prorated automatic refund, and runs a sweep to recover missed webhook events.

What syncs, in which direction

  • Outbound: payment links per invoice; Connect checkout sessions from the client portal.
  • Inbound: payment events reconciled into the ledger; a recovery sweep catches events a webhook delivery missed.
  • Webhook signature verification is fail-closed — an unverified payload is rejected, not trusted.

Setup

Connect your Stripe account per workspace via OAuth (Stripe Connect). No API keys are pasted into Oneop for the Connect flow; the platform-billing side is configured by Oneop, not by you.

What it does not do

  • No sync of Stripe customers, products or subscription objects into the CRM — the integration is about taking payment on Oneop invoices, not mirroring your Stripe catalog.
  • Payment acceptance requires the finance/invoicing surfaces that generate invoices; the client-portal payment flow additionally lives inside the project-management module. Both modules ship in every workspace, but the portal is only useful once you invite a client to it.
